What is a Ragdoll? Is it real, or is it a toy?
Do they really go limp when you pick them up?
I never heard of a Ragdoll; where did it come from?
What makes them so special?

These are some of the questions people ask us about this unusual breed of cat. Ragdolls have gotten their name because they tend to go limp when they are picked up. What else makes them such a special cat?

Dad, The Great Catsby Too!

Ragdolls vie with Maine Coon cats as the largest breed of domestic cat. In spite of their hefty size, they are nonagressive, gentle and sweet. Altered males can grow as large as 23 pounds, but average about 15 to 18 pounds. Females tend to be a few inches shorter and weigh about 5 pounds less.

Ragdolls make ideal family pets. They are quiet, affectionate, playful and devoted to their humans, following them throughout the house. These cats adapt easily to children, dogs and other cats.

Because of their sweet nature, they do not defend themselves, are not suited for life in the wild, and may need to be protected from small children and overly enthusiastic adults. They are a low-maintenance pet because their medium to long, silky fur does not mat. While they do shed, regular brushing can cut down the shedding quite a bit.

We have two homes that are located in Orleans on Cape Cod and in Bedford, Massachusetts, and are, by choice, a small cattery of two breeding pairs and an extra female. Being small, we can hand raise our kittens at home and underfoot with plenty of love and attention. Our cats and kittens have never been caged because they are our pets first and foremost.

Two Moms Are Better Than One!

We guarantee the health of our cats and kittens against genetic defects and environmental infections. Our cattery is registered with TICA and CFA as Cape Cod Cats and with CFF as Cats' Cradle. Our kittens can be registered in all three associations. We are also breeder members of Ragdoll Fanciers' Club International (RFCI), Ragdoll International (RI), and Ragdoll Cat Fanciers (RCF).
